We're part of Compass Group Canada, a global foodservice and support services company. Our team caters to students and faculty on college campuses, providing responsible and healthy-eating solutions.
As a Cook, you'll be responsible for preparing food in accordance with corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations. Your tasks will include:
- Preparing, pre-cooking, and cooking food products as directed.
- Preparing "mise en place" and other products for high-volume production.
- Cleaning kitchen equipment after use.
- Labeling, dating, storing, and rotating food and beverage products.
- Communicating effectively with operational departments.
- Reporting maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Proven cooking experience, including experience as a restaurant cook or prep cook.
- Food Safety Certification required.
- Certificate from a recognized cooking school.
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
- Familiarity with industry's best practices.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
