**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure the quality of food served in all food outlets, including the staff cafeteria, is of the highest possible standard appropriate to that area.
- Be responsible for stocks and the control of wastage according to company standards.
- Assist in maintaining and improving upon budgeted food costs.
- Hygiene control: carry out the cleaning schedule in the department, ensuring that hygiene and safety standards are maintained.
- Ensure that all records for the criterion board are maintained.
- Standard operation procedures for all dishes are implemented with the aid of a 1st cook.
- Always provide courteous and professional service and ensure that any guest complaints are promptly rectified and communicated to the Sous Chef.
- Assist the Sous Chef in the fulfillment of his or her duties in order to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.
- Assist in training within the department and attend training sessions when requested in line with hotel requirements.
- Always maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene.
- Maintain good working relationships with team members, colleagues, and all other departments.
- Have a complete understanding of the hotel’s employee handbook and comply with the regulations contained within.
- Comply with all company procedures regarding fire procedures, health and safety standards, food hygiene, and security and safety.

**Requirements**:

- Completion of a culinary diploma is required.
- Food Safety certification is required.
- Previous experience in a kitchen is required.
- Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 24 per week

**Salary**: $24.15-$25.15 per hour
