As a key member of this team, you will play a critical role in enhancing our controls environment, ensuring compliance with Enterprise policies and standards, and enabling proactive risk management.

Job Summary

The IT Risk Controls Assurance Specialist will be responsible for supporting the review of existing IT control documentation, establishing and maintaining control management best practices, and providing ongoing feedback and recommendations to improve and streamline the IT control repository.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the review of existing IT control documentation to ensure alignment with Internal Controls Management Standard
  • Establish and maintain control management best practices across RBC's IT controls
  • Provide ongoing feedback, advice, and recommendations to improve and streamline the IT control repository
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to provide guidance on how to best apply controls in IT processes and align to Policies and Standards
  • Support the delivery of controls testing results into wider Global IT Risk reporting
  • Prepare timely and accurate reports on a regular basis as well as create ad-hoc reports
Requirements
  • University graduate or equivalent experience
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Experience with IT controls testing and/or IT audit, with a risk management foundation
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical (including qualitative analysis), research and quantitative skills
  • Ability to think analytically, navigate ambiguity and recommend solid solutions
  • Ability to multi-task and flexibility to adapt to priority changes
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional designations i.e. CRISC, CISSP, PMP
  • Experience using RSA Archer or other similar Risk Management platforms
  • Ability to use a systemic approach to solving problems through attention to detail, analysis, and evaluation of alternative solutions
