We are seeking a dedicated and patient Childcare Worker to provide care for children. The role involves supporting parents by preparing meals, maintaining hygiene, monitoring health, behavior, and emotions, offering age-appropriate education, and collaborating with parents to foster positive learning and socialization experiences for the children. Responsibilities also include ensuring a safe, engaging, and clean environment.
Location: Burnaby, center-based
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:30am-6:30 pm and Saturday, 9am-3pm
Take an inside look at what you will do each day:
- Caring for children by establishing schedules and routines, grooming, feeding, changing diapers, and cleaning rooms and toys.
- Ensuring a safe environment by monitoring children for health, behavioral, and emotional concerns, and reporting them to staff and parents.
- Collaborating with parents to help children achieve educational and behavioral goals.
Here is what you will need to be successful:
- ECE Diploma or equivalent.
- Patience, decisiveness, and stamina for activities such as chasing after, lifting, or carrying children. Attentiveness to children's needs and safety.
- Able to undergo Vulnerable Sector Checks
- Excellent communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of childhood development stages.
