About the JobThe Lift Mechanic Journeyman is a key member of our maintenance team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our lifts and equipment. If you're a skilled tradesperson with a passion for problem-solving and a commitment to safety, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate daily activities in the absence of the lead mechanic and lift supervisor
- Inspect, repair and maintain the functional part of the lift
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions
- Disassemble and overhaul equipment as required
- Assist with planning and performance of maintenance activities
- Perform all needed maintenance activities for the functional parts of lifts, associated buildings and ramps
- Report to the supervisor, any maintenance activities performed
- Advise supervisor of needed parts or supplies
- Assist with training programs as required
- Ensure that all related activities are conducted in a safe manner through sound judgment and knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines
- Journeyman Millwright Ticket (BC or Red Seal)
- 3-5 years lift mechanic experience required
- 2 years supervisory experience preferred
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and Excel
- Electrical, welding and hydraulic experience preferred
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
- Ability to perform very heavy work (exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects)
- Ability to work in all winter weather conditions for extended periods
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Full-time, year-round position
