Join our team as a Laboratory Technician - Microbiology and contribute to delivering exceptional quality and service in a dynamic food laboratory environment.

Imagine being part of a collaborative team that values innovation and excellence. At Bureau Veritas Laboratories, we're looking for a skilled Laboratory Technician - Microbiology to join our team in Ville Saint-Laurent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general lab support and perform basic testing procedures for food samples.
  • Ensure a high level of accuracy in sample preparation and employ proper laboratory techniques to minimize risk of mislabeling, sample mix-up and cross contamination.
  • Assist with media preparation and decontamination, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) when conducting any laboratory work or procedure.
  • Prioritize daily workload based on sample and client requirements, and identify any non-routine samples and seek guidance on procedures for handling.
  • Identify and communicate non-conformances to Supervisor, and maintain training records and relevant qualifications.
  • Meet quality and TAT specifications required by the client and ensure samples are analyzed within holding time requirements.
  • Keep work area clean, neat and organized, and perform all other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • College diploma in Science, with experience in a laboratory an asset.
  • Positive outlook with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and good time-management, communication, multi-tasking and priority setting skills.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team, and be detail orientated with record keeping skills.
  • Learn quickly and be able to perform repetitive tasks, adapt well to a changing environment, and have excellent computer skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a dynamic food laboratory environment with a collaborative team.
  • 6 months contract with possibility of transitioning to a permanent position.
  • Work schedule: day/evening (depending on needs, possibility of overtime on weekdays and/or week-ends).
  • Full time, 37.5h/week.
