What you will do

Reporting to the Parks Retail Buyer, you will be responsible for assisting with buying, receiving, and merchandising retail items for the Provincial Parks retail program. You will work in collaboration with other branches within the department. Your duties will include, among other things:

  • Managing inventory within the warehouse and individual park stores
  • Preparing and arranging deliveries to park stores
  • Preparing physical and digital inventory transfers from one location to another
  • Receiving deliveries at the warehouse, checking for defects and updating the inventory management system
  • Fulfilling orders received from the online store
  • Providing ongoing training and support to park employees
  • Collaborating with other THC branches and GNB departments as required
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Work environment

  • Primary office location: Parks warehouse
  • Secondary office locations: Fundy Trail, Herring Cove, Hopewell Rock, Mactaquac, Mount Carleton, Murray Beach, New River Beach, Parlee Beach, Republique and Sugarloaf, Fundy Trail
  • Your Team: small head office team and park staff in the field at the above parks
  • Committed to offering a work life balance.
  • Travel throughout the province and work outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required

Who you are
You are organized and have great attention for the details. You have experience managing inventory, merchandising, and fulfilling orders. You have worked with digital inventory management systems and keeping them up to date. You have excellent problem-solving skills and are always ready to help. You possess strong interpersonal, communication skills, are self-motivated and able to think on your feet. You have a respect for safety. Collaboration and inclusivity drive your actions.

Need to have

  • A two-year college diploma with a minimum of four (4) years related experience
  • Thorough knowledge and experience working with various computer software programs (Point of sale systems, inventory management systems, Excel, Word)
  • Valid class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
  • Written and spoken competence in English is required

Nice to have

  • Experience in the retail industry
  • Experience in online store management

Wage

From $1,948.00 to $2,722.00 bi-weekly (Pay Band 3)
