Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Movement Educator to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for creating a stimulating and engaging environment that encourages children to explore and develop their physical skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement individual and group activities that promote gross motor skills and physical development.
  • Assess and adapt curricula to meet the needs of students with disabilities or different physical abilities.
  • Supervise students during high-risk activities and ensure a safe environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Use technology to enhance the teaching and learning process.
Requirements
  • Early Childhood Certification or Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Background or education in kinesiology is an asset.
  • Alberta Child Care Certification Level 2 or higher.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Knowledge and understanding of children's gross motor skills and how to incorporate them into games and activities.
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a passion for working with children.
  • Ability to manage and supervise large groups of children.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical labor, including the ability to lift up to 40lbs.
