Allied universal is looking for professional security guard in Fort saskatchewan, Alberta

Job Title: Professional Security Guard

Location: Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta

Position Type: Full-time (Permanent) rotational shifts

Salary: $20.56 per hour

Overview:

Allied Universal is in search of Professional Security Guards for a permanent position at one of our industrial sites located on the outskirts of Fort Saskatchewan. This role offers full-time hours with 12-hour rotating shifts. We seek candidates who excel in customer service, possess exceptional communication skills, and can confidently handle high-pressure situations.

Duties Include, but are not Limited to:

  • Checking identification of staff entering the facility.
  • Issuing visitors with correct identification and ensuring its return upon completion of the visit.
  • Conducting foot patrols of buildings.
  • Observing and reporting suspicious activities and persons.
  • Detecting or preventing thefts and vandalism.
  • Writing detailed narrative reports and maintaining daily activity reports.
  • Enforcing rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and responding to emergency situations requiring security assistance.
  • Resolving conflict situations while remaining calm and collected.
  • Using communication devices such as radios and cell phones.
  • Following radio and emergency telephone procedures.
  • Ensuring that safety and emergency procedures are followed.
  • Responding to alarms and other emergencies.

Requirements:

  • Ability to deal with high-pressure situations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle to travel to the site.
  • Must have a VALID Alberta Security License.
  • Must have a VALID NON-GDL Driver's License (may be requested to provide a 5-year driver's abstract upon hire).
  • Must be flexible and able to work days, afternoons, and nights.
  • Must be willing to abide by the clean shave policy for the site.
  • Ability to read, understand, and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing (correctable to normal level required) in communicating with the public/co-workers, giving and receiving instructions, using phones.
  • Availability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnight shifts.
  • If applicable, valid work visa.
  • Must display exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills to utilize innovative, wireless technology at client-specific sites.
  • Ability to stand or walk constantly (for up to an entire shift) on various surfaces.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during a shift.
  • Occasional bending/twisting at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to run as needed.
  • Must be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting; will require strong computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work in various environments, including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain, or heat.
