As a central agency, the French Language Services Directorate (FLSD) supports, collaborates with and empowers the Government of Yukon departments and other public bodies to serve and inform the public in French. We foster strong partnerships with departments and stakeholders to improve access to government services in French. We aim at building bilingual capacities across government by providing client-focused services such as translation, training, advice, and operational support.

Our team is looking for a dynamic, versatile, and passionate individual to develop and deliver French language training to Government of Yukon employees at all levels. This includes one-on-one language support, tailored workshops, group classes, and on-site workplace learning events. Training can occur in a variety of settings: in a classroom, online, or in a blended learning environment. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing redesign and continuous improvement of curricular materials and content to better meet the language needs of public-facing employees. This position prepares and conducts language evaluations for designated bilingual positions within Government of Yukon.

Essential Qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet each of the following qualifications.

  • Post-secondary training in education, French, linguistics, or related field.
  • Considerable, recent experience teaching French as a first or second language.
  • Experience with adult education, workplace training or online teaching would be considered an asset.
  • Experience performing language evaluations would be considered an asset.

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
