Job Summary

Vestas is seeking a highly skilled Wind Energy Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for performing skilled level blade composite maintenance, intermediate level wind turbine maintenance or installation tasks, and troubleshooting and diagnostic tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform skilled level blade composite maintenance, including proficient operation and use of tools and basic turbine equipment.
  • Perform intermediate level wind turbine maintenance or installation tasks, including proficient operation and use of tools and basic turbine equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with wind turbines, including the use of diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Document tasks and enter data into company systems, such as SAP.
  • Act as a safety role model, encouraging and recognizing others for completing safe acts and intervening when unsafe acts are being practiced.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Post high school education (e.g. wind school, trade school, college) and two (2) years wind industry experience, preferred.
  • Proven use and understanding of intermediate level power tools, such as hydraulic, power torque, and diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to demonstrate intermediate working knowledge of industrial safety practices and protocols.
  • Composite experience, preferred.
  • Rope Access experience, preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License and Passport.
Competencies
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write in English.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, lift, push, pull, carry items up to 50 lbs, and stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to grip and manually manipulate items, such as hand tools, turbine parts, and comfort working in confined spaces and at heights over 100 meters.
  • Ability to participate in and complete all training courses, including high-angle rescue and training.
