About the Role

As a Food Service Supervisor, you'll be responsible for:

  • Assisting managers in supervising multiple food service units
  • Supervising menu production, cash readings, and staff management
  • Learning from and assisting managers to resolve labor relations issues and track inventory, sales revenue, and labor costs
  • Communicating positively with café patrons and addressing their concerns promptly
  • Ensuring compliance with Compass' Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Program, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and WHMIS regulations
  • Coordinating workplace inspections and WHMIS training for all staff
  • Ensuring Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards are followed in food preparation

Requirements

  • At least one year of strong operation food industry management experience
  • Comprehensive health and safety knowledge and training
  • Knowledge of food service catering
  • Strong supervisory skills and ability to motivate and lead staff
  • Employee relations experience in a unionized environment is an asset
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
