This is a challenging opportunity to join the Government of Yukon as a Community Health Nurse. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering preventative health services to individuals and communities in the Yukon.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement community health programs to promote health and well-being
- Provide health education and counseling to individuals and groups
- Conduct health assessments and screenings to identify health needs
- Collaborate with community partners to develop and implement health initiatives
- Provide immunization services and promote healthy practices
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Current registration with a Canadian registered nursing regulatory authority
- Recent experience in public health nursing or a related field
- Strong knowledge of community health programs and health promotion
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
This role requires regular exposure to infectious agents and frequent driving and visiting clients in their homes. You will also be required to lift and move clients and equipment occasionally.
