About the Opportunity

The Short Order Cook is a key member of our kitchen team, responsible for preparing fresh, high-quality food to order for patients, clients, and customers. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and cooking food to order, following recipes and menu standards
  • Measuring and portioning ingredients accurately
  • Following safe food handling procedures and maintaining a clean and organized workspace
  • Providing excellent customer service and interacting with patients, clients, and customers in a courteous and helpful manner

Frequent physical demands include standing, walking, bending, lifting, pulling, and pushing, as well as transferring food supplies throughout the shift.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual with:

  • Grade 12 or GED
  • 1-year related experience in food preparation or a related field
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French preferred.

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours biweekly. The hourly rate is $24.00, and successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
