About the RoleThis is a fantastic opportunity for a new Nurse Practitioner to join our well-supported fellowship program and consolidate their clinical skills. You will be part of a dynamic team that values collaboration, innovation, and excellence in patient care. Our clinical enhancement program offers regular in-house skills development, including suturing and x-ray interpretation, as well as centralized NP orientation.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and treat patients with undifferentiated diseases, disorders, and conditions within your scope of practice.
- Monitor ongoing care, order screening diagnostic investigations, and interpret reports to inform treatment decisions.
- Establish priorities for patient management, provide follow-up treatment, and communicate effectively with patients and families about health findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess and diagnose patient status, develop treatment plans, and admit and discharge patients as needed.
- Prescribe medications within statutory and regulatory standards, limits, and conditions for Nurse Practitioners.
- Supervise and evaluate the care delivered by other nursing and healthcare personnel, and participate in research to improve patient care and advance nursing practice.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Current practicing registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Recent relevant clinical nursing experience.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to critically assess and evaluate health research literature, and introduce education and evidence-based research.
- Ability to assess and recognize population health trends, and plan and implement strategies for population-based prevention and health promotion.
