Gas Attendant Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Gas Attendant to join our team at Canco in Orillia. As a Gas Attendant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a safe and efficient fueling experience, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Greet customers, answer questions, and assist with fueling, car wash services, and other inquiries.
  • Safety and Security: Follow safety protocols when handling fuel, including the use of safety equipment such as gloves and safety glasses.
  • Store Maintenance: Clean fuel pumps, fuel islands, restrooms, convenience store, and any other customer areas. May also pick up litter around the station.
  • Inventory Management: Keep records of fuel sales, transactions, and inventory levels, as required.
  • Price Updates: Update price displays and ensure accurate pricing at the pumps.
  • Supply Restocking: Restock supplies such as windshield washer fluid, paper towels, and other automotive products.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies, such as fuel spills, fires, or medical incidents.
Requirements:
  • Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in a customer service role or retail environment.
  • Petroleum Industry Knowledge: Experience in petroleum or convenience stores is preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects (up to 30 pounds).
  • Cash Handling: Accurate cash handling and the ability to use point-of-sale (POS) systems.
