Financial Services Coordinator

Dairy Farmers of Nova Scotia

Located in Truro, Dairy Farmers of Nova Scotia (DFNS) provides regulatory and administrative services to Nova Scotia's dairy producers. DFNS licenses producers and milk transporters, sets the farm price for milk, and administers the production quota system, which is a cornerstone of the supply management system. DFNS currently has 195 members located on farms from Port Morien to Yarmouth. Together, they produce over 206 million litres of high-quality milk each year.

Key Responsibilities:

All functions related to accounts payables and receivables using Sage Accounting

Prepare journal entries and reconcile Accounts

Prepare financial statements and reports

Support finance team to prepare and gather year end documents for audit

Create and modify supporting Excel spreadsheets

Provide administrative support to the office staff and management team

Prepare documents, newsletters, presentations, correspondence, and reports

Provide in-person and virtual event planning/meeting support

Manage office supplies, inventory, and equipment maintenance

Perform a variety of data entry tasks

Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and respond to inquiries

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Qualifications:

Diploma in Accounting/Business Administration

3 -5 years experience in financial/accounting role

Proficiency in using Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and Sage

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed

Diplomatic and customer service oriented

Compensation:

Starting annual salary between $55,000 and $65,000

Hybrid office environment; Hours are 8:30 to 4:30. Tues, Wed, Thurs in office, Mon & Fri remote option
