Job Summary

The Fraser Health Authority is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in a Full Scope position at Chilliwack General Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and social needs, and develop individualized care plans to address these needs.
  2. Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and providing emotional support to patients and their families.
  3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between departments.
  4. Participate in multidisciplinary care planning meetings to discuss patient progress and develop strategies for improving patient outcomes.
  5. Document patient information accurately and thoroughly, and maintain confidentiality of patient records.
  6. Operate and maintain equipment related to patient care, and report any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
  7. Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  8. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A diploma in Practical Nursing from a recognized institution.
  • Current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to patient care.
