Compass Group Canada, a leading foodservice and support services company, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Student Engagement Coordinator/Administrative Assistant. This role combines student engagement responsibilities with office administration duties to ensure a smooth operation and a positive experience for students, staff, and faculty.

The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written skills, with an ability to maintain good relationships with suppliers, staff, and clients. They will also have strong computer skills and the ability to learn various software programs quickly, as well as excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing strategies to enhance student involvement and engagement within the food service department
  • Providing administrative support to the food service department, including managing correspondence, maintaining records, and organizing meetings
  • Serving as a liaison between the food service department, students, faculty, staff, and campus administration
  • Overseeing the general operation of the unit office, including upkeep of operating cost records, associate files, compliance, and record retention
  • Answering telephones and directing inquiries in a professional manner
  • Maintaining confidential personnel files
  • Assisting management staff in preparing confidential employment documents
  • Opening and routing incoming mail, answering correspondence, and preparing outgoing mail
  • Assisting with staffing, including finding staff when employees call out on short notice
  • Attending in-service and/or safety meetings as required

  • Post-secondary education in Office Administration, and/or one to two years of office administration experience

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and take direction/feedback
