We are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a tenure track position as an Assistant Professor in Neuro Bioengineering at the University of British Columbia (UBC).
About the PositionThis is a full-time position that will have a membership as a Core Member with the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health, a UBC Senate-approved centre supported by the UBC Faculty of Medicine.
Key Responsibilities- Lead an independent research program with potential to achieve international recognition for leadership and research excellence in the field of neuro bioengineering.
- Participate in graduate and undergraduate teaching in biomedical engineering and related topics.
- Provide service within the University and to both the academic and broader community.
The successful candidate will have a strong training background in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, neuro-engineering, neurobiology and engineering, stem cell engineering, and/or related fields, and demonstrated ability in scholarly activity with experience in collaborative and convergent research at the interface of engineering and molecular/cellular neuroscience.
Requirements- Ph.D. or equivalent in a relevant field.
- P.Eng. licence or eligibility to obtain a P.Eng. license or Limited Licence with Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
- Strong research and teaching background in neuro bioengineering or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to attract, develop and retain excellent trainees, students and future researchers.
