Aviva Canada Inc. has an excellent opportunity within our Corporate Risk team We are seeking a dedicated Head of Management Liability to play a key role in our expansion into the Management Liability space, with a focus on large, multinational, risk-managed accounts.

In this role, your primary focus will be to leverage your Management Liability industry contacts and relationships to launch the initiative and generate a profitable Management Liability portfolio. With the support of technical underwriting resources, your focus will initially be to establish and build a portfolio of Excess Directors' and Officers' business. Over time, you will participate in product development discussions to further expand our product offering and introduce a full suite of Management Liability solutions including Directors' and Officers' Liability, Employment Practices Liability, and Fiduciary Liability on a primary and excess basis, for privately held and publicly traded companies. You will represent Aviva at external meetings with brokers and clients and drive profitable growth.

What you'll do:

  • Generate, underwrite, and analyze risks in line with the Management Solutions strategy and guidelines.
  • Attend and participate in client meetings across Canada to understand risk profiles.
  • Develop and maintain intermediary relationships to create business flow.
  • Work alongside the Corporate Risk Underwriting team members to cross-sell and support Customer focused solutions.
  • Build out and develop our Management Liability tools, solutions, appetite and growth strategy, in collaboration with a variety of Aviva stakeholders.
  • Keep informed on technical issues relevant to the role and work alongside the Central Technical Unit to enhance wording, guidelines, referrals, pricing, etc .

What you'll bring:

  • A Bachelor degree with a focus in Business or Finance is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of underwriting experience (including at a senior level) in Management Solutions with a focus on large accounts is required.
  • A broad network of relationships with key Canadian brokerages and clients is required.
  • Additional professional qualifications related to Insurance or Finance are strongly recommended.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
