Job Summary

The Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for assisting pharmacists in the technical aspects of prescription filling and administrative duties, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receiving prescriptions from patients, assessing completeness, and prioritizing prescriptions according to 21st Century Guidelines.
  • Performing computer functions as directed by the pharmacist, including data entry, price checks, and patient information updates.
  • Filling prescriptions under the pharmacist's supervision, selecting products, performing accuracy checks, and labeling and organizing prescriptions for pharmacist checking.
  • Maintaining inventory control, assisting pharmacists in maintaining stock levels, and checking for expired medications.
  • Providing general housekeeping, stocking prescription filling supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assisting with OTC operations, ordering, stocking, and cashier duties as assigned by the OTC Manager and/or Pharmacist.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant experience in a pharmacy setting.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of pharmacy software.
