As an IMS Manager, you will be responsible for providing management support and training to the Information Management supervisory team.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct performance development reviews and address performance issues

- Manage the day-to-day business affairs of assigned units
- Develop and approve policies and procedures within assigned business units
- Participate in the selection and hiring process for assigned units and prepare interview and written tests
- Participate in internal and external committees and meetings
- Conduct internal audits to ensure business practices are current and relevant
- Coordinate quarterly and year-end reports
- Write business case reports as required
- Assist Director in long-term planning and budget preparation
- Extensive knowledge of VPD police records management system (PRIME)
- Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of management related to office management, records management, human resource management, and budgetary control
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), facilitation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of management and government officials
- Proven supervision, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to analyze problems and determine appropriate action
- Excellent resource and time management skills
- Ability to express ideas effectively in written and oral form
- Ability to make sound judgments and recommendations regarding best business practices
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships in a team environment
- Working knowledge of JUSTIN, SAP, WMS, CPIC, DEMS
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Human Resources, or other related studies
- Courses in Leadership
- Minimum 5 years' experience working in a police records management environment
- Minimum 2 years' RFT experience in supervising/managing staff in a unionized environment
- All employees must maintain their Enhanced Security Clearance while employed with the Vancouver Police Department
- Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License
- Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Candidates will be required to take a written test. Candidates must obtain a minimum 70% passing mark to move forward to the interview.
