Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position is responsible for providing operational leadership in the full range of P&C services at the unit location. Responsible for overseeing the human resource functions, including employee relations, talent management, employee engagement, community relations and compensation analysis/review.

Now, if you were to come on board as our Manager, People & Culture, we'd ask you to do the following for us:

  • Provide HR management and direction through consultation with Centres of Excellence to the in unit leaders, including, employee relations, communications, talent assessment and staffing, organizational analysis, and change management.
  • Work with the business management team to plan, assess and challenge strategies and organizational structures to maximize productivity and efficiency; provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Lead and leverage P&C processes within the business such as employee engagement, performance management, salary planning/reward management, succession planning, and talent management.
  • Coach and counsel operation leaders and managers to make them better business and people leaders, including interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, and following investigation information gathering protocols.
  • Proactively identify needs and provide recommendations for improvement in the way people management practices are carried out.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Assists in collection and reporting of confidential self-identification surveys for Federal Contractors Program on Employment Equity. Communicates and ensures PAR Indigenous targeted recruitment goals are being met to increase designated group representation

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business or related field required
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a HR role, with supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated ability to meet strategic objectives for HR and the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage HR core processes such as talent management, succession planning, recruitment, and employee relations
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills
  • Sound leadership, staff management, and teambuilding skills
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
