Seeking a Communications Consultant to provide leadership and innovative communications services for the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, with expertise in website development and management.


The Communications Consultant is accountable for providing leadership and innovative communications services for the Agency. This position is also responsible for development and ongoing management of the Agency's external website. The Communications Consultant may be expected to act in the absence of the Director.


The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor degree in Journalism/Communications or related field, or a Certificate in Public Relations, and three years of relevant experience. IABC Accredited Business Communicator or (Strategic) Communications Management Professional (SCMP/CMP), or CPRS Accredited Public Relations (APR) professional designation, would be considered an asset.


The Communications Consultant will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing communications strategies to promote the Agency's mission and goals.
  • Managing the Agency's external website, including content creation and updates.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to the Communications team.
  • Acting as a liaison between the Agency and the public, media, and other stakeholders.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and media representatives.
  • Creating written, verbal and visual communication materials using a variety of hardware and software applications.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Providing culturally responsive care for First Nations and Métis people.
