The P&H Milling Group sources wheat from Western Canada, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada to produce quality flour and cereal products. The lineup includes hard red spring wheat flour for breads and other bakery products, soft winter wheat flour for cakes and cookies, as well as semolina flour for pasta, organic flour, and atta flour for chappati. In our specialty milling operation in Saskatoon, we also mill pea fractions.
From its mills in Halifax, Nova Scotia; Acton, Hanover, Hamilton, and Cambridge, Ontario; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Lethbridge, Alberta, the P&H Milling Group supplies flour to customers throughout Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Iceland, and Pacific Rim countries.Wage Wage: $28-$32 per hourYour RoleRotating 8 Hour Shift.
As Packing Shift Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for packing production within the facility, including operating and monitoring equipment and machinery. You will lead a team of unionized operators in the production and shipping of flour from the facility that runs 24/7. This position is a rotating 8-hour shift and will require overtime when necessary.Day to Day
- Supervise and lead the packing team to operate the packing equipment and execute the packing schedule for customer fulfillment.
- Work effectively in a food processing environment in a safe manner and with high standards for product quality, housekeeping and sanitation in accordance to BRCGS and Food Safety procedures.
- Follow a production schedule and perform all flour production changes as required as well as modify it to make sure production orders are deliveries are completed.
- Monitor and assess the operation and condition of all equipment during the shift and maintain the action items list, indicating equipment that require repair and maintenance.
- Complete required inspection reports and work orders accurately.
- Perform troubleshooting and minor repair/maintenance as required.
- Direct Staff to complete general sanitation according to schedules and work orders.
- Report any food safety, product quality and/or food security incidents to the QA Department and relevant departments.
- Ensure GMP, HACCP and Company policies and procedures are followed.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Understanding basic concepts of ERP systems.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Possess a forklift license.
