Join our team as a skilled Maintenance Technician III - Painter and contribute to the upkeep of our facilities. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the building's finishes are of the highest quality.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement a preventive maintenance program to maintain the building's finishes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and design specifications to determine building finishes specifications and calculate materials and labor requirements.
- Develop painting and finishing repair schedules and plans.
- Apply paint or other materials using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment, preparing and cleaning surfaces, removing old wallpaper and paint, and repairing cracks and holes in walls.
- Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, molding, and hardware, as required to complete other works related to painting tasks.
- Maintain all painted, graphic walls, and drywall within the facility.
- Maintain surface exterior doors, fencing, gates, concrete coatings, and exterior line and sign painting.
- Maintain, repair, paint, and renovate building fabric elements within the facility, including exterior cladding.
- Operate and maintain painting, drywall, siding, and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Perform minor work requests as assigned.
- Contribute to and participate in the effective use of the Quality Control System.
- Participate in a call-out system to assist the company in responding to emergency situations.
- Escort contractors and other staff who do not have the appropriate security clearance within the facility.
- Remove snow and ice from sidewalks when required to meet project requirements.
- Comply with the company's policies, plans, and procedures.
- Fulfill Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the company's Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety Management Plans.
- Support the company's Quality Policy Statement and actively participate in the achievement of company and personal Quality objectives.
- Undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required within the department/service.
- BC Trades Certification in a relevant trade.
- Working knowledge of material systems, methods, and equipment used in facility maintenance work.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards, safe working practices, and applicable regulations in Facility Management in accordance with Work Safe Regulations.
- Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory standards of maintenance and implement predictive and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Ability to work in a team environment with a minimum of supervision and be collaborative in dealing with fellow employees.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers by being customer-focused and responding promptly to customer needs.
- Ability to do layout and finishing of typical projects, including a variety of room additions and renovations.
- Ability to draw appropriate sketches to communicate details to team members and others.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
