Port Hawkesbury Paper is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our Maintenance team. This full-time position is responsible for the preventative maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of our vast array of mobile equipment.
Skills/Competency Requirements:
· Ability to work safely as part of a team
· Proficient in problem-solving and troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic issues on a variety of machines
· Welding, Hydraulics and Machining
· Comfortable working alone in diagnosing emergency breakdowns
· Self-motivated with strong prioritization skills
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Willing to work shiftwork, overtime and after-hours call-ins as needed
· Able to support other plant maintenance activities and teams when necessary
Experience/Education Requirements:
· Heavy Equipment Mechanic Journeyperson Certification preferred
· Knowledge of Sennebogen (Woodyard material handler), Hitachi and Cat equipment
· A second trade would be an asset
· Class 1 Drivers License considered an asset
