Android Engineer

We are seeking a talented and experienced Android Engineer to join our growing native app team. As a member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the NHL's Android application. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable, and high-performance solutions that are seen by millions of users.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement advanced features for our Android applications using Kotlin and Java
- Experience designing and developing high-quality, maintainable, and scalable UIs using Jetpack Compose
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements and prioritize features
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards
- Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and adherence to development guidelines
- Optimize application performance, memory usage, and battery consumption
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Android development trends, tools, and technologies
- Troubleshoot and debug issues reported by QA or users
- Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives
- 3-4 years of professional experience in Android development using Kotlin and/or Java
- Strong understanding of the Android SDK, Android Studio, and Gradle
- Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and third-party libraries integration
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
- Solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices
- Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
