Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Food Preparation Specialist to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our food preparation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of food products in our cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot bars.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare food items according to production sheets and recipes to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Monitor food levels and replenish in a timely manner to maintain a well-stocked and visually appealing display.
  • Ensure all prepared items are labeled, dated, covered, and rotated to maintain freshness and quality.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer needs in a timely and effective manner, and modeling suggestive selling techniques.
  • Maximize sales potential through effective procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
  • Follow established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment, and ensure equipment is in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
Requirements
  • Thorough product knowledge and ability to follow recipes.
  • Good understanding of food production and fundamental cooking techniques.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors, and Team Members.
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures, and effective time management and organization skills.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions, and use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
