Job Description: Laboratory Technician Join Our Team as a Laboratory Technician

Carbon Engineering is a leading company in the field of Direct Air Capture (DAC) and AIR TO FUELS TM technologies. We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team in Squamish, BC.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that is making a real difference in the fight against climate change. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our Technology Development, Process Engineering, and Commercial Projects teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect process samples from the plant for analysis
  • Provide timely processing and analysis of test samples in accordance with the sampling schedule, including:
    • Spectroscopy
    • Particle Size Analysis
    • TSS
    • Ion Chromatography
    • Microscopy
    • Titrations
  • Conduct sample receiving, data entry, and chemical inventory through LIMS
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration on laboratory equipment
  • Interpret results, discuss deviations with the Production Team, and assist in identifying corrective actions
  • Support plant analyzer validation studies and special projects as instructed by the Lab Supervisor
  • Maintain the laboratory in a clean, tidy, and serviceable condition
Requirements
  • Technical Diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or related field
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in an analytical laboratory and/or field sampling, preferably in oil and gas, water treatment, or similar environment
  • Experience performing Chromatography and ICP-OES/ICP-MS is considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of related safety and WHMIS regulations
