Your Impact:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll for entities within OpenText. Key responsibilities include:
- Processing payroll tasks for MEX employees, including data input, audits, and reporting.
- Interacting with other payroll team members and providing high-level customer service to stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Auditing information from the HR system for accuracy.
- Verification and reconciliation of each payroll run and resolving discrepancies.
- Ensuring timely government filings and remittances relative to payroll.
- Calculation of manual cheques when required.
- Completing Year-End Process and filing applicable tax year-end filings.
- Identifying and processing taxable benefits.
- Dealing with requests and correspondence promptly and efficiently.
- Assisting employees with payroll requests and questions.
- Administration of Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP) and Stock Options as related to payroll.
- Pension remittances and reporting.
- Providing Finance with GL details and assisting in reconciliations and research.
- Staying abreast of legislative changes and compliance issues.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2-3+ years' experience in US, CAN or MEX Payroll, with an international company with multiple legal entities.
- Outsourced payroll packages experience, preferably with ADP GlobalView, ADP Streamline, and ADP Celergo.
- Second Language (Spanish or Portuguese) skill considered an asset.
- PCP/PLP Canadian certification a plus.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, detail-oriented, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and as a co-operative team member.
- Organized with an ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while working towards strict deadlines.
- Strong issue resolution skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (English).
