Key Responsibilities- Supervise designated staff by assigning work and determining priorities, evaluating and providing feedback on employee performance and evaluations, determining training and orientation requirements and orienting new staff.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care to meet the needs of the client in accordance with competency guidelines, established standards of practice and current legislative scope of practice.
- Contribute to the development and modification of the client's care plan, including attending and providing feedback to the interdisciplinary team around care planning and family conferences.
- Contribute to the development and revision of standards of care, policies and procedures, and advocate improvements in clinical nursing practice, healthcare and healthcare services.
- Perform nursing care and procedures, evaluate client outcomes, and record observations and reports problems and/or changes to designated staff for follow-up.
- Respond to general inquiries by telephone and in person, providing direction and information about available programs and policies.
- Assist in the recruitment and selection of staff by reviewing applications, providing input into the development of interview questions, and participating on interview panels.
- Graduation from an approved school in Practical Nursing.
- Two (2) years' recent, related clinical and/or supervisory experience in a community health setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
