**CNC Technician Level 1 Job Description**

**Summary:** CNC Technician Level 1 required to operate CNC Lathe and Mill, maintain quality and safety standards, and perform routine housekeeping tasks.

**About the Role**

The CNC Technician Level 1 will be responsible for loading programs into the CNC machine, operating a CNC Lathe and Mill, maintaining Quality and Safety Standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Operate CNC Lathe and Mill, navigate machine control, and perform tool wear offset adjustments
* Read and understand traveler documents
* Load material into CNC machine safely and correctly
* Manage raw materials basket, making accurate measurements to verify correct material size
* Perform machine inspection and basic maintenance tasks to ensure proper functioning of CNC machine
* Recognize broken tooling and inserts during operation
* Utilize tools and equipment, including measuring tools, hand tools, power & pneumatic tools, and operating a pallet jack
* Locate and identify correct inserts
* Replace inserts and tools using proper technique
* Maintain chip conveyors by identifying chip blockages and safely removing them
* Identify burrs on part and safely remove them
* Finish work pieces and perform quality control checks through reading technical drawings and blueprints and using key measuring tools
* Measure in-process and final part against drawing
* Correctly handle finished materials
* Perform routine housekeeping around the shop
* Adhere to health and safety protocols, including wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

* Working knowledge and previous experience with operating a CNC Lathe and Mill
* Possess mechanical and technical skills to effectively operate and troubleshoot a CNC machine independently
* Ability to read technical drawings and printings and utilize key measuring tools
* Experience with utilizing various hand tools and understanding machine utilization capacity and tooling capabilities
* Ability to navigate control panel
* Strong communication skills to effectively interact with employees and supervisors
* Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
* Capable of moving heavy equipment, materials, and supplies up to 23 kg (50lbs)
* Previous knowledge or experience of oil and gas specific threads is an asset
