Summary: Seeking a Casual Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Surgical daycare team at Chilliwack General Hospital, providing nursing care to patients and contributing to a multidisciplinary team. The Role: We are looking for a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Chilliwack General Hospital. As a Casual Licensed Practical Nurse, you will provide nursing care to patients, assess their needs, and develop individualized plans of care. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care. Responsibilities: • Assess patients' actual and potential strengths and limitations, including physiological, psychological, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs. • Provide a supportive environment for patients, promoting their involvement in health care decisions and respecting their personal choices. • Contribute to the development and ongoing changes to individualized plans of care, including attending multidisciplinary care planning meetings and family conferences. • Provide nursing care according to identified policies and procedures, technology, and FHA standards, evaluating outcomes and recording observations. • Perform admissions, discharges, and transfers of patients according to agency operating policies and procedures. • Document and update all relevant care and procedure information to ensure patient safety and comfort. • Operate and maintain effective functioning equipment related to patient care, such as bathtubs, scales, and mechanical lifts. • Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients and staff. • Assist in the orientation of new staff, students, and other members of the Health Care Team. • Participate in continuous quality improvement and program evaluation activities, education sessions, team conferences, meetings, and committees. Qualifications: • Graduate of a recognized practical nursing program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. • Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. • Ability to deal with others effectively. • Ability to organize work and implement a plan of care. • Knowledge and competencies to work at full scope of practice as currently required by the BCCNM, including administering medications. • Ability to operate related equipment. • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
