Financial Analyst - GEID

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at the Glenmore Ellison Irrigation District (GEID). As a Financial Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the district's daily financial operations and the transition project to the City of Kelowna.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the district's financial operations, including financial statement preparation and analysis.
  • Assist in the transition project to the City of Kelowna, ensuring a smooth transition of financial responsibilities.
  • Develop and maintain financial models, budgets, and forecasts to inform business decisions.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to identify areas for process improvement and implement changes.

Requirements:

  • CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible accounting experience, with a minimum of two years at the Accountant level or higher.
  • Experience working with financial software systems, internal controls, and municipal accounting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
