Job Summary

Reporting to the IT Lead, the IT Support Specialist will provide in-office technical expertise to support operations, applications and internal equipment. This role will provide support through the maintenance of existing applications and implementation of new technology solutions. The IT Support Specialist, in collaboration with the IT team, will be the first point of contact for support in the use of networks, portals, website maintenance and the NSCN intranet. This role offers opportunities to be involved in projects and new initiatives that will contribute to creative and proactive solutions. The successful incumbent will actively contribute to the Strategy and Operations team in meeting the NSCN vision, mission, values and strategic objectives.

The successful candidate will have an inquisitive mindset with strong technical and problem-solving skills. They will have a drive to learn and implement evolving system enhancements to support business goals and delivery of NSCN's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the IT service area to ensure that information technology is current, integrated across the organization, supports user needs and is fully utilized
  • Support end-users in day-to-day IT tasks, including troubleshooting of Microsoft Office, workstations, laptops printers, test devices and other office IT equipment
  • Identify and implement evolving system enhancements without major disruptions to operations
  • Proactively deal with technical aspects of the information technology network
  • Provide exceptional application and technical support for all end users
  • Participate in problem resolution in a multiplatform environment
  • Propose changes that will increase service availability
  • Understand the complexities of using a CRM software and supporting business process improvement projects in a regulatory environment

About You:

You have exceptional customer service skills and are able to maintain a professional, solution-focused approach at all times. You have experience researching and utilizing best practice and techniques in the administration of technology assets. You are experienced in providing support for the technology in place, including but not limited to:

  • Knowledge of desktop hardware, software, printers, Windows desktop OS
  • Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft 365 services
  • Microsoft server operating systems and network services
  • Microsoft Intune
  • Microsoft SharePoint
  • Fortinet security solutions
  • Datto Backup and recovery solutions
  • CRM solutions

Education & Experience:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in an Information Technology related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of IT experience in a similar position
  • Microsoft Certified Professional certification considered an asset.
