Senior GIS Specialist, Infrastructure Development Division

Aecon Civil, a leading market player in the infrastructure industry, is seeking a highly skilled Senior GIS Specialist to join its Infrastructure Development Division (IDD) team in Toronto. This role will be a key contributor to the development of innovative geospatial solutions for infrastructure and transportation planning projects.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Geospatial Manager to design and implement 3D geospatial/BIM solutions for regulatory and permitting elements of Canadian and international infrastructure and transportation planning projects.
- Develop and maintain FME scripts to automate workflows in FME desktop/server.
- Create 3D maps, databases, and other deliverables for ongoing bid/execution projects on short notice.
- Mentor and train junior GIS staff, promoting a culture of support and collaboration.
- Independently organize, conceptualize, and conduct large-scale spatial analyses.
- Develop vector and raster spatial analysis models using Spatial ModelBuilder, Python, or other GIS scripting languages.
- Design and support web GIS applications using Esri Web App Builder, Operations Dashboards, Story Maps, Collector, and Survey 123 within the ArcGIS Enterprise platform.
- Site travel will be required 20% of the time within Ontario (mostly GTA).
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience working with Esri GIS applications (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, etc.).
- High data organization standards, performing rigorous quality control/quality assurance practices for all GIS data created.
- Advance knowledge of ESRI tools, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Knowledge of Python, Arcade, JavaScript, FME, SQL, HTML, and Esri Model Builder is an asset.
- Experience with Autodesk software, including AutoCAD Civil, Civil 3D, and Revit.
- Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, including experience creating analytical reports.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
