Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Pan Am Clinic. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procure, store, prepare, compound, package, maintain, issue, and distribute drugs, chemicals, and supplies in accordance with policy and procedures.
  • Review prescriptions for compliance with federal and provincial law.
  • Perform final checks on prepared medications.
  • Dispense medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Identify and report drug-related problems.
  • Provide instructions to patients on the use of medical devices.
  • Assist with external dispensing site tasks.
  • Train and precept Pharmacy Technicians-in-training, Pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • One year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital setting is preferred.
  • Successful completion of a CCAPP Accredited Pharmacy Technician Certificate or the program prescribed by the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba.
  • Listing as a Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba is required.
  • Ability to pass and maintain Regional Pharmacy Program Pharmacy Technician competency assessments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Fluency in the English language.
  • Demonstrated competency in pharmaceutical calculations.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position working in a fast-paced pharmacy environment. The successful candidate will be required to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the efficient operation of the pharmacy.

Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT.
