Oak Valley Health is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our interprofessional team at the Markham site. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive, progressive, and effective assessment, consultation, treatment, and education for patients, family members, and/or caregivers within the acute and subacute adult patient populations.
About the Role:
- You will be responsible for providing high-quality patient-centered care, performing at an exemplary standard, and working collaboratively with the team to achieve outstanding patient outcomes.
- You will have the opportunity to participate in ongoing program development and quality improvement activities, contributing to the growth and excellence of our organization.
- You will work closely with support personnel, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace.
Requirements:
- Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, in good standing.
- Experience in neurology, geriatrics, and musculoskeletal disorders is required.
- ADP authorizer designation is an asset.
- Experience with wheelchair and seating assessment/prescription.
- Minimum 1 year experience in the acute and subacute patient setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well as a member of the team.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with support personnel.
- Experience with electronic documentation preferred.
- Evidence of continuing education and professional development.
- Demonstrated good attendance and performance records, with the ability to maintain these same standards.
Work Schedule:
The successful candidate will be required to work 8-hour day shifts, primarily Monday to Sunday, with a minimum of two weekdays and two weekends within each 6-week period.
Compensation:
OPCOM12: $53.98 per hour
