Our Model Operations team ensures that every step of the model lifecycle, from planning to monitoring, is thoroughly documented, controlled, efficient, and effective. While speed is essential in bringing models to market, accuracy is paramount. This is where you come in:
You excel at delving into details, asking relevant questions, aligning real-world processes with data flows, estimating financial impacts precisely, and conducting analytical tests to validate your assumptions while outlining how our modeling teams should leverage your findings.

We are seeking skilled, practical, analytically-minded business analysts who can adeptly map operational processes into business rules/algorithms and data flows, as well as collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to enhance our automated decision-making, forecasting, and capital management.

  • Business Analyst / Business Consultant / Financial Analyst

As a Manager, you will directly report to a Senior Manager or Director and play a pivotal role in a team collaborating regularly with various stakeholders and internal partners such as Data Scientists, Business Line & Operations leaders, Technology & Data teams, Finance, Model Operations, and internal challenge functions.

You will work closely with the Model Operations team, utilizing your analytical skills to support either the Director, Forecasting Models, or the Director, Decisioning Models in:

  • Planning and managing initiatives
  • Mapping and/or re-engineering key processes, data flows, and/or business rules
  • Translating concepts into algorithms and designing implementation solutions aligning with business needs and internal/regulatory directives.

Possible deliverables/results may include (but not limited to):
Increased operational efficiency and effectiveness
Quantitative analyses supporting continual decision-making
Structured implementation and project plans that are executed successfully
Business rules, financial formulas, and algorithms
Recommendations for further improvements

What Do You Need to Succeed?
General

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Sciences, Business/Commerce, Finance, or related field
  • Demonstrable history of problem-solving and sound judgment
  • Experience as a Management Consultant, Business Analyst, Process Engineer, Financial Analyst, or Data Analyst working across interdisciplinary teams
  • Essential data analytics skills, along with knowledge of programming languages for data analysis, solutioning, testing, and gap analysis
  • Proficiency in testing (BAT/QAT) to ensure comprehensive testing coverage
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills to articulate complex operational processes, business requirements/rules, and data sets clearly, prepare high-quality documentation, and gain trust as a reliable advisor
  • Ability to work both remotely and on-site concurrently on various tasks while meeting deadlines

Technical

  • Firm grasp of business analysis, requirements formulation, process mapping, data mapping, and financial analysis
  • 3-5 years' experience in consulting, business analysis, or process engineering, translating intricate processes into mathematical algorithms
  • Proficiency in business productivity, data governance/lineage, and data management tools such as SQL, SAS, Python, Excel, PowerBI, Visio, MS Project, JIRA, Teams, and Lists
  • Adept at translating data analysis into SQL queries/code

Nice to Have's
General

  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish
  • Domain knowledge in retail & small business banking products or risk management practices
  • Familiarity with credit risk models/scorecards
  • Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, TQM, or other process management frameworks

Technical

  • Understanding of statistical prediction, estimation, and forecasting models
  • Programming skills (Python, SAS) for legacy/traditional and big data systems
  • Familiarity with advanced statistical methods addressing uncertainty
