Mental Health Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide and coordinate the delivery of psychiatric nursing care services to patients experiencing serious mental health and bio-psychosocial problems.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned clients, including reviewing client/family history, conducting physical/psychosocial assessments, and providing psycho-education to individuals, clients, and their support systems.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and document psycho-social rehabilitative plans in collaboration with clients' support systems and interdisciplinary team members.
- Facilitate individual and/or group treatment using cognitive, behavioral, educational, problem-solving, and crisis intervention methods.
- Provide life skills training when applicable in the area of personal life, leisure, and medical nursing interventions and responses to medical/psychiatric emergencies.
- Actively participate in and support the total therapeutic program of the Unit.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.
- One (1) year recent related mental health experience in an acute, tertiary, or community setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
