About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Therapeutic Assistant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Therapeutic Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing health, health promotion, and therapeutic services to patients.

Reporting to the Registered Nurse / LPN and working under the direction of a Recreation Therapist, you will assist in carrying out individual care plans and communicating patient-specific information to enhance the level of knowledge of the treatment team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Grade XII diploma and a one-year certificate or diploma from a Recreation or Therapeutic Recreation Program
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current St. John Ambulance First Aid course preferred
  • Current certification in Non Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) is an asset
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Competencies in other languages preferred; French an asset

Hours and Compensation

This is a Permanent, Part-Time position with 52.5 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $24.69.
