As an integral member of UHN Pharmacy Services, the Pharmacy Site Operations Leader plays a crucial role in supervising inpatient pharmacy operations.

Job Description

The Pharmacy Site Operations Leader is responsible for supporting the Dual Hospital Pharmacy Operations Manager with all aspects of pharmacy operations, implementing pharmacy projects, providing direct and/or functional supervision of staff, maintaining related policies and procedures, and providing expertise in pharmacy automation, sterile and non-sterile compounding.

  • Supporting the Dual Hospital Pharmacy Operations Manager with all aspects of pharmacy operations of the assigned site;
  • Implementing pharmacy projects;
  • Providing direct and/or functional supervision of staff, including human resources management;
  • Maintaining related policies and procedures;
  • Providing expertise in pharmacy automation, sterile and non-sterile compounding;
  • Leading initiatives that will optimize the safety, quality, delivery and efficiency of the hospital's drug distribution systems;
  • Representing pharmacy at various interprofessional committees and contributing to quality improvement activities within the department;
Qualifications
  • Completion of an advanced degree (Masters or equivalent) or Doctor of Pharmacy degree;
  • Certificate of competency from the Pharmacy Examination Board of Canada;
  • Active registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists as a Pharmacist, Part A;
  • At least 2-3 years of practical and related supervisory, management, or leadership experience;
  • Pharmacy practice in a hospital setting with up-to-date knowledge of pharmacy operations;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Excellent analytical skills;
  • Ability to manage workload with frequent changes;
  • Ability to plan and coordinate various assignments and projects;
