Supervisor, Quality

The Quality Supervisor position is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities of a team of Quality Operators who check, test, and inspect raw materials, goods in process and finished products. In addition, monitor the performance of equipment and processes; identify, troubleshoot and resolve scheduling problems in order to maintain efficient operations.

Performance Expectations

· Monthly H&S talks and audits.

· Direct supervision of the Supply Quality Engineers in the facility.

· Compiles and analyzes test information to establish operating efficiency of process or equipment and to diagnose malfunctions.

· Responsible for gauging MSA, calibrations, procurement and repair.

·· Review priorities and diverse skills of workers to ensure job tasks are assigned to appropriate workers.

· Investigates complaints on existing products and coordinate with Quality Engineers in response to customer.

· Establishes work procedures, prioritizes testing activities, and schedules quality personnel that may include outside inspection services.

· Provides leadership, mentoring and supervision of Quality personnel.

· Develops and recommends test procedures for products, raw materials and maintains test equipment.

· Evaluate employees through performance reviews, ongoing coaching and feedback methods. Maintain training matrix for inspection personnel.

· Continuously improve performance based on the key performance indicators. Focus on the reduction of COPQ and scrap.

· Analyzes and resolves, or assists workers in solving work problems.

· Oversee the efficient implementation of quality standards, programs and processes to improve operational efficiencies and reduce production waste.

· Supports TS internal audit system and participates in LPA.

· Participates in other facility teams and programs as needed.

· Directs and advises personnel in special testing.

· Maintains a thorough knowledge of new developments, technology and processes.

· Guide employees and less experienced workers to perform inspection tasks.

· Maintain balance between customer, employee and financial satisfaction by maximizing suppliers' Performance Indicators ( Linamar Supplier Scorecard System)

· Supply Management including APQP, Launch, PSA's and crisis management.

· Maintain effective communication with internal and external customers to ensure program requirements are met.

· Be actively involved in quality planning of the supply base (Control Plans, APQP, FMEA, PPAP, MSA).

· Participate & lead in APQP meetings.

· Participate in 8D Problem solving meetings with suppliers..

· Review accuracy of process documentation and update as required.

· Supplier development activities (Prototype running, pre-production process analysis, run at rate on site, early containment evaluation, process production release)

· Safe launch assurance and /or red launch follow up and solution.

· Follow up on lessons learned matrix and read across, ensure added to engineering feasibilities by commodity/component.

· Willingness to travel as needed.

Credentials

· High School Diploma or equivalent general education.

· ASQ Certification and or certificate in QA Program an asset.

· Minimum five years experience in a quality or manufacturing environment.

· Functional knowledge of SPC, ISO9001, TS16949, ISO14001.

· CMM Programming experience.

· Ability to operate and troubleshoot machines and equipment.

· Ability to use basic computer applications and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

· Ability to interpret blueprints and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

· Knowledge and experience in gauging methods, gauge selection, calibration, and MSA.

· Able to understand testing and inspection requirements.
