Cook - Join Our Team at Sienna Senior Living
We're seeking a passionate and dedicated Cook to join our team at Sienna Senior Living. As a critical role within our communities, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our residents and ignite the warmth of human connection.
About the Role:
- Setting up equipment and supplies for food preparation
- Preparing meals and snacks according to production sheets, recipes, and other menu documents
- Providing for prescribed diets, at appropriate temperatures, and in portion-controlled quantities
- Monitoring quality of food supplies received and advising team leaders of problems and making recommendations for corrective action
- Assuming responsibility for departmental operations, including menu changes, requisitions, and purchases of food and other supplies
- Assisting in the orientation and training of new team members
- Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Grade 12 minimum education required
- A valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and/or Smart Serve certificate
- Experience with cooking in institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality settings
- Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence
- All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check
Bonus Points:
- Graduate of a recognized college food preparation program and willing to Red Seal certify
