Registered Nurse (RN) - Part-Time position available at Southbridge Cornwall, a state-of-the-art long-term care home in Cornwall, Ontario.
Reporting to the Director of Care, the RN will enhance the effective management and quality of nursing practice in keeping with the Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario and Long Term Care Standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide resident care according to established nursing standards and principles, physicians' orders, and administrative policies.
- Assess residents, develop, implement, review, and evaluate resident care plans, and monitor residents' health.
- Plan, direct, supervise, and evaluate the work of nursing and personal care staff, and orient and train new personnel.
- Assist in preparing the facility for RAI MDS, and take charge of the facility in the absence of the Director of Care.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario required.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.
- Previous managerial experience in long-term care preferred.
- Experience dealing with cognitively impaired residents.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices, and knowledge of Infection Control Practices.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with seniors.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
