Clinical Resource Nurse - Forensic Psychiatry - Community Reintegration A clinical resource nurse is required to provide therapeutically competent, ethical and safe care to a psychiatric clientele in a community reintegration setting.

DEPARTMENT: Forensic Psychiatry - Community Reintegration

JOB TYPE: Permanent full-time

SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Bilingual essential

The clinical resource nurse participates in the coordination, development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care delivery to a psychiatric clientele.

  • Registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick;
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing;
  • Three years' experience in psychiatric nursing care;
  • Certificate in psychiatric nursing / mental health (CNA) would be an asset;
  • Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certificate;
  • Good knowledge of computer applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • Training in non-violent crisis intervention or commitment to take such training;
  • Prevention and Management of Suicidal Behaviours in a Psychiatric Hospital Setting or commitment to take such training;
  • Ability to manage stressful situations and set priorities;
  • Proven ability to solve problems, make decisions and resolve conflicts;
  • Proven leadership skills;
  • Initiative and sound judgment;
  • Ability to teach and transmit knowledge to others;
  • Individual or group facilitation skills;
  • Ability to act as a change agent;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
