Registered Practical Nurse

Seeking a care-centered Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at Casa Dolce Casa, a retirement home providing holistic care to seniors.

The ideal candidate will possess empathy, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of senior care needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the health and wellness of residents
  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans
  • Communicating resident care needs and changes in status to the Head Nurse and key contacts
  • Providing medication support and administration
  • Responding to emergency situations
  • Completing documentation and meeting deadlines
  • Communicating with the interdisciplinary team
  • Ensuring narcotic medication is stored and accounted for
  • Participating in staff orientation and training
  • Communicating the need for nursing supplies
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and regulations
  • Meeting the Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Key qualifications include:

  • Current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Nursing experience in a similar setting
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certificates
  • Ability to communicate effectively with seniors, families, and colleagues
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to focus on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of pertinent legislation and regulations
  • Ability to conduct work on a computer using Microsoft Office programs
  • Criminal records/vulnerable sector screen, TB screening, and satisfactory professional references
