Amazon is revolutionizing the advertising industry with cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions. As a Data Engineer II, Analytics, you will play a crucial role in designing and building scalable data architecture for ingesting large amounts of structured and unstructured datasets.

Our team is passionate about data and the insights it provides, and we're looking for a talented individual who shares our enthusiasm. You will work closely with business leaders, engineers, and stakeholders across Ads, Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Service teams to drive data-based business decisions.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and improving the current data architecture using AWS Redshift, AWS S3, AWS Aurora (Postgres), and Hadoop/EMR
  • Improving data ingestion models, ETL jobs, and alarming to maintain data integrity and availability
  • Staying up-to-date with advances in data persistence and big data technologies and running pilots to design the data architecture to scale with increased datasets
  • Partnering with stakeholders to build and verify hypotheses to improve business performance
  • Managing and supporting business-critical reports and reporting tools to monitor KPIs
Requirements
3+ years of data engineering experience

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions

  • Experience with non-relational databases/data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)
  • Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
